What’s Happening in Fourth Grade

April

Reading-We are beginning Theme 6 in our reading textbook.  The stories in this section involve exploring our world.  The students will be identifying the main idea and supporting details in the first couple of stories. Later, we will focus on figurative language.

Math- The next few topics in math involve measurement.  We will measure length, weight, and capacity using customary and metric units.

Social Studies- The last region we will study is the West.  We will begin learning about the geography, climate, and natural resources of this area.

Science-  We will continue learning about the human body.  We have covered the body systems, and now we will focus on keeping our bodies healthy.  Our last science unit will involve animals.

We will be MAP testing the week of April 23rd.
